Yet, today I got an email reminding me about Caffeine. It also ask if I had been watching my key phrases in the “New Google”.
OOPS! I had watched them for a bit & then just kind of forgot.
Maybe you have done the same?
So, I wanted to write this reminder that we do need to keep an eye on things in the ‘regular old Google’ & the new Caffeine.
I have no idea how or when Google may switch to the new search. Hell, they are likely just slowly implementing pieces & parts. But, no matter how they do it, we need to keep track of where our sites rank in both.
In the above post, I have links to the New Caffeine Google & to a site that lets you compare SERP’s for both old & new Google (side by side).
Go grab those links & take a look at where you’re ranking. If Google do a big switch (I doubt) & you’re not ranking on the New G – you could loose a mass of traffic.
Personally – I would not do major changes all at once to get ranks in the new search. That may throw you out of the regular Google. Just keep an eye on things & see if there are any small changes you can do that will help you in both. Or at least be looking into what MAY happen if they change over.
Or do you even care where you rank for your key phrases?
I heard the other day that ranking in the SERP’s is old news, now everything is going to depend on your ‘popularity/viralabilty’ in social sites. ROFLMAO!!
