The Governor of Massachusetts Deval Patrick declares Pittsfield a state of emergency. Pittsfield received over 30 inches of the white stuff. Lenox, Lee, Stockbridge, Great Barrington, and surrounding towns came in close to 25 inches, Savoy Ma. got blasted with 38 inches, and Boston reportedly got as much as 40 inches in some of the outlying areas.
The Berkshire towns are now passable thanks to the snow removal efforts of State, Town and Business Workers. I got a great workout myself cleaning out our yard, livery, deck and roof. I can't imagine how challenging it would be to get another storm right on top of this one. People think this is out of the ordinary but in reality we have been dealing with this for as long as I can remember. It can be fun if you approach it like anything else with the right frame of mind.
