How to Catch a Restaurant Thief

Employees are not only Stealing from you but your customers also.
The credit card leaves the sight of the owner. It’s all too common for an employee to have their own hand held scanner to collect a copy of credit card information for themselves, or just do the old fashion pen and paper thing

bar stories, food and beverage, hotel business, restaurant, theft

Yep this does happen and more frequently than most would realize.

An old friend of mine used to work at a nice hotel restaurant. She was a waitress. She got caught doing the "tear up the ticket" and pocket the cash. She was fired and brought up on theft charges and at the EXACT same time her best friend and a good friend of mine also, who worked at the same hotel I worked at, got arrested for embezzlement from payroll. So needless to say these 2 best friends were ripping off 2 different hotels and they both got caught at the same time and I no longer associated with them.

All I can say is they got what they deserved.
