Tweetdeck Adds Facebook Connects

If you are now using Tweetdeck you already know that it is the best twitter application made to date & it just got better. There is a new bete of Tweetdeck being tested!

This new system allows you to update your Facebook status right from Tweetdeck. You can also see your Facebook friends status in a separate column.

The added Facebook feature is super simple to use. When you write a tweet you will see there are 2 boxes you can checkmark, you can just send the tweet out to Twitter or you can tic the Facebook box and send it to both Twitter &/ or your Facebook.

You can also email your Facebook people right from Tweetdeck. If you see a GREEN DOT under a message in the Facebook column then you know that person is online & can chat with them right there. Never leaving your Tweetdeck.

This new updated Tweetdeck is in testing. You can only see these added functions if you manually download the new Tweetdeck. They give warning that it is in testing! There will be some bugs. If you are not willing to have possible problems then just stick with the regular version.

I just happen to love Tweetdeck and wanted to give this update a try. I had the original (way back when) version downloaded with in an hour of it being put out as bete. I also hate Facebook. For me to log into Facebook almost takes a force of God. Now, I can update my page & never see all the stupid crap people have sent me there. You know the flowers, teddy bears...Crap I don't need.

This new version also allows you to Shrink updates & Translate your tweet! Yes, I write out my message & then pick the language I want to send it in! Got friends that you would like to say something to in their own native language? Here ya go! WORLD WIDE COMMUNICATION LINES ARE OPEN!

Ok, this is just a quick overview of what I have seen so far on the new system. I'll add more info as I figure it out! Yes, It did work to update my Facebook page, I double checked!

Wow, what a great addition to Tweetdeck! I just love Tweetdeck ~ it makes keeping up with tweets to me and people I follow SO much easier. I go hot and cold on my Facebook useage, but do know that I have a lot of positive connections there when I do use it. Maybe this addition to Tweetdeck will help me use it more consistently and efficiently.

How can you not love facebook? Where else can you get 10 Vampire invites, 9 stale beers, become a jedi or a shith lord, get invited to join a group dedicated to saving elephant snot, and check up on your 9th grade sweetheart? Of course it may take you an hour to login and it will crash 100 times but oh the joy of finding another friend invitation from someone in Malaysia that wants you to cash a check for him from Nigeria.

At least I did not think I had to worry about you 2 girls spamming me on Facebook but, looks like it just got easier!

Did you see the Recent # - super cool! This way it is just 1 click to use a hashtag that you normally use!

I just realized that when I send a tweet in another language then the people without Tweetdeck will think I am multi lingual or maybe they will have no idea of what I am tweeting. Take that you web users! I will send dirty messages & you will not know it.

To bad I only send dirty messages about Karen. LOL!

Ok, I just went to FB & deleted a bunch of people. Having watched their updates for an hour - I realize - I do not even know who some of them are. I am down to 12 people! Out of those 12 I have only met 1 in person & that is Brad! The other 11 are people that I do like to know what they are doing. LOL

Brad & I also checked out the FB Chat from Tweetdeck, it is ok, no big deal. It just opens up another box over Tweetdeck and shows the chat from Facebook. Problem I see is it does not minimize, it only closes. So, that makes it hard to chat while doing anything else.

Therefore I prefer skype to chat!

The FaceBook chat is not a huge deal it just opens up the FaceBook chat so you can interact there. It would be cool if you could chat from TweetDeck to FaceBook and back. But FaceBook reminds me of Hotel California to some degree Not mush leaves there. LOL

You do make me laugh Karen!! I can see how you and Sheryl are friends!! Reading her posts I see you both have the same humor which really makes me Laugh!!

To tell you the truth Onna,
I was always a really good girl until I met Karen. Ok, I am still always a really good person it's just that she brings my Evil Twin to the forefront. She does this to several people, I could make a huge list of people she has been a bad influence on. All of us are super sweet just tweeting away lovely messages & then as soon as she gets on - we all just get a bit evil.

I think that is why we all the weird & quirky mind of Karen Kramer when her site is talked about.

Today I downloaded the new version of Tweetdeck Desktop .26! WOW it is GREAT!

They have added the ability to have multiple user accounts all on 1 desktop program.

You can send a tweet from 1 user account or more at once. Just click to highlight the user/users you want to send from, write your tweet, & click. Be sure that you unclick any accounts you do not want the tweet sent from.

Block, Delete, & Report spam all with 1 click!!

You can also use the Reply to All, this will send a reply to all the users mentioned in a tweet.

Tweetdeck has also collaborated with YFrogy for images!

Now, I am sure I have left something out so, if you have found it let us know.

If you sign up for a Tweetdeck account you can get -
Synchronise your columns between multiple computers,
Backup your groups and restore them with a couple of clicks,
Delete a group column without losing the group,
Access all your Twitter accounts with just one login.

Once you have downloaded the new version, it will give you the option to just upgrade (your current version).
Now, open it & put in your username for your main Twitter account. You can add new Twitter accounts at any time.
To add a new column so, you can see, All Friends, Mentions, DM's..for any account click on the button for that feature & then choose the account name you want it for. Tweetdeck does offer unlimited columns now.

I am pretty sure that you can figure out all the new features in just a minute of messing with it.
The only one to remember is to UNCLICK or CLICK which account you want to send the Tweet from.

OK, go give it a try, I feel it kicks Seesmics a$$ right down the road. LOL!

Oh boy it's our lucky day!

Tweetdeck added MySpace!
I am sooo excited. I can find all my MySpace friends.

Ok, not really. I do not even have a MySpace. But, if I did I would now be filled with unspeakable JOY!!

With this update they did put the Auto URL shortner on. That freaked me out.

They also added the Tweetdeck Directory which could be cool I guess.
If you click it in the Tweetdeck toolbar, you will be taken to a web page & see all types of topics. Find a topic you like & click on it.
It then adds that topic as a column in your Tweetdeck.

I'm not sure it is really useful.
I just do a search on any keyword/phrases that I want to check out. Seems kind of a pain to go to the site to do that but, whatever.
