OK, I'm a little lost. That WP-O-Matic plugin sounds a lot like what was used to scrape content from my blog, and that's a bad thing. Am I missing something?

Sire, yes it appears that's what it "technically" does but from I gathered we would not use the scrapped post as is. Give it a mini rewrite in our own words for the articles of value. Alas it doesn't work on my WP so I can't really tell you for sure but just what I understand it to do :)

Sire, yes it can be used to pull your post & placed on their site. Some evil people will even take out the links you have in your post & the link to the original content.

But, any time you put out a full post RSS Feed you run that risk. You also may loose clicks to your actual site if you have a full feed & people read your post in any aggregator like Google Reader.

Many news site will pull in feeds to other sites but, they only post a partial & give a link to the full post at the original site.

I have a thread about the Pro's and Con's of Full RSS Feeds

As for your question...The WP-O-Matic is similar to me pulling feeds into Google Reader But, the WP-O-Matic can be set to post them automatically (or you can pick & choose & post manually). Whereas with my GReader, I would need to "take" the ones I wanted to my site.

When you submit your site to RSS Feed directories, they will pull your feed & post it on their site (most have a character limit).

So it is all in how you use the WP-O-Matic.

Like Tam said, to be a good citizen you would not post complete articles & would always give links to the original.

I also prefer to rewrite the post so it is not just a repeat of any other site. We also installed a Plug in that will automatically take a 1 word/words in a post & interlink it to the corresponding TAG. <-That is another top secret that I thought of because I am lazy. Actually, I did it because I use the FireScribe & did not want to go find the tag links every time for inner linking.

I hope this helps a lil. Keep asking questions & I will keep trying to find answers. LOL!

OK, that all makes sense. I don't feel comfortable using that plugin though. I would rather make up my own post and refer to another via a link than doing it via that plugin.

Sire, I fully understand. I was not really fond of that plug in posting for me so, I do my own.

Tam, the best way to organize info in your head & remember it is to teach someone else. I personally do best if I tell someone by voice. Hearing it said may set it in your mind. I can type out How To's all day and still not remember but, once I explain it when talking...BAM I normally remember.

I also remember every single word someone said if they piss me off. :D

Great news Sheryl's Leverage engine went down.
The other morning just as I was leaving for work Sheryl said that she had just gotten a 500 internal error on the driver site. So of coarse I had to go into the WAM and up grade the bandwidth for her site. Lets see if she can do it again. Kind of exciting and awesome to see the browser hits grow weekly in Google analytics. She is to the point now that people are referring and linking back to her, there are a few real awesome links.
